According to the law on electronic communication, everyone who visits a website must be informed of what cookies and other storage techniques are used for. The regulation aims to protect the integrity of the user/visitor.
What is a cookie? A cookie is a text file that carries information that is stored on the user’s unit (mobile, computer or tablet). Cookies are used by many websites to give the user access to different functions. There are two types of cookies. One type is stored temporarily on the user’s unit while he/she surfs on a page. It disappears when the user closes his/her web browser. The other type saves a file for an extended period on the user’s unit. It is used for, for example, functions that tell the user what is new since he/she last visited that site.
At swecamp.se, we use the following types of cookies or equivalent:
Session cookies are used for statistics on traffic to the website. While the user visits the website, the cookie is sent between the user’s unit and the server. Session cookies disappear from the user’s unit when he/she closes the web browser.
Third-party cookies are used by us to direct advertising to relevant target groups. This is done through retargeting campaigns. We do not store any information via cookies that can be linked to an individual.
